A SCHOOL’S contribution to a museum project could save visitors from a fall. Andrew Miller and Richard Usher, 15-year-old pupils at Icknield School, Wantage, made 22 JUL 1982 a decorative metal cover for an ancient well discovered on the site of the new Vale and Down- land Museum in Church Street, Wantage. Andrew and Richard are pic- IN tured above with Mr Donald Alexander, chairman of the trust responsible for the museum, who went to the school to receive the unusual gift. The trust is busy transforming a former doctor’s surgery into the new museum and exhibition centre, and during the restora- tion work someone nearly fell down the well, Mr Alexander told pupils.
