The Hon. Nicholas Ridley is a Member of Parliament for Ciren-oester and the Towkesbury Division of Gloucestershire. He has been serving as an MP since October 1959 under the Conservative party. Ridley was born in 1929 and received his education at Eton and Balliol College Oxford. He worked as a Civil Engineering Contractor with Brins & Co. Ltd., Newcastle upon Tyne from 1950-59 and became a Director in 1954. He has also served as a Director of the Heenan Group since 1961. In the General Election of 1955, he contested the Blyth seat. Ridley has held various positions including Minister of Education in 1962 and Delegate to Council of Europe in 1962. He is currently a Front Bench spokesman on defense. Ridley is the younger son of the 3rd Viscount Ridley and is married with three daughters.The Hon.
