This weekend, Charles raised another 1,000, which was presented to Guide Dogs for the Blind Midlands’ regional organiser Steve Rurnell by Wallingford’s mayor, Bill Revell. Charles has been raising cash for guide dogs for nine and a half years and has made over 18,000. The presentation followed a sale of goods which raised another 260 to put Charles on the way to another cheque presentation. “I’ve got lots of people who help me collect and raise cash for this cause and everyone works hard,” said Charles. Prominent on the sales tables were over 60 cakes and dozens of smaller items made by his mother, Mrs Alice Stringer.
