Fifteen-year-old Christopher Dove, a pupil at Fitzharry’s Comprehensive School in Abingdon, has been recognized as a junior genius in mathematics by the Association of Mathematical Pupils. He is one of the top 20 school mathematicians in the country, and the only one from Oxfordshire to make the grade. Christopher was placed 15th in the top 100 published results, and was the highest placed of three 15-year-olds to make the list. Christopher achieved an A Grade in his O Level while in the third year, and A Grades in both A Level Maths and Further Maths as well as Distinctions in the special papers in his fourth year. The annual competition is used in the selection of a British team for Mathematics the international Olympiad which is being held later this year in West Germany, and Christopher is now waiting to hear if he has been chosen.
