On May 21, 2021, a German Junkers 52 wartime aircraft was being rescued from the bottom of Hatvikvannet, a small but deep lake near Narvik in Northern Norway. The plane was one of eleven that crashed through the lake’s ice during the German campaign on the Narvik front in the spring of 1940.
