On December 5, 1986, Viscount Althorp, a Magdalen College graduate, received his Upper Second BA degree in modern history. Accompanied by his sister, Princess Diana, and their mother, Mrs Frances Shand Kydd, Althorp donned his graduation robes and posed for a family photograph in Radcliffe Square, celebrating his success with hugs and kisses. Discreet Security was in place, with around 10 officers standing by in a side street.
