A team of young hikers successfully completed a gruelling 32-mile trek across Oxfordshire at the weekend. The course took competitors anything from less than eight hours to more than 16 hours to complete. Of the 99 three-person teams which set out on Saturday from Marston Middle School, Oxford, only 22 finished the course. The event was the 14th Gardner annual Cyril Memorial Hike and the best time was set by the Makins Venture Scout Unit from Henley, winning the senior section with 7hr 41min.A team of young hikers successfully completed a gruelling 32-mile trek across Oxfordshire at the weekend.
