Victor Amazespovich Ambartsumyan is a prominent Soviet scientist. He serves as the President of the Academy of Sciences of the Armenian SSR and is also the Director of the Byurakanskaya astrophysical observatory. He has received numerous accolades including being twice awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labour, State Prize Laureate, and a Deputy of the USSR Supreme Soviet.
