Description
On November 15, 1963, students at Wallingford Grammar School were treated to a visit from renowned percussion lecturer Mr. James Blades. During the visit, Mr. Blades brought a complete range of percussion instruments, including modern timpani, a gong worth 500, rattles, and wooden blocks. He explained the history of the instruments and the boys were able to test them out, ending with a piece composed for piano and percussion by Malcolm Armoic. The visit is likely to lead to a substantial rise in the number of students interested in taking up percussion instruments. On November 15, 1963, students at Wallingford Grammar School were treated to a visit from renowned percussion lecturer Mr. James Blades.
