Work is still in progress on the English city of Liverpool’s Cathedral. Construction began before 1914 and much still remains to be done. The work of Sir Giles Gilbert Scott, the 66-year-old architect who is still working on it, is unique in that it is the only Cathedral in the world to be the work of one architect. When completed, the Cathedral will be one of the four largest in the world, and with the exception of St. Peter’s in Rome, the longest in the world. The nave remains to be built until that is finished the Cathedral is only two thirds finished. The sculpturing is in the hands of E.
